Charley had to admit he was a little worried when she didn't answer, and her sympathy, that usually would have made his stomach curl, only made him appreciate her rawness more. She was clearly confused, maybe worried, and the patchy male for a moment fretted that she would feel pressured to tell him now. Her next words silenced his thoughts before he formed words to say, and abolished all worry. It did, however, surprise him: not that she trusted him, but that he WANTED her to. He wasn't getting to know her for anything, especially not conning or anything vile. If anything, the only thing he wanted from her was, well, HER.
What? What the fuck was that thought? He.... wanted her. How? Was it just the way he wanted Emory, to protect her and keep her safe?
No. No not even close. He couldn't place just how he wanted her, and his thoughts were interrupted by a white hot spot on his shoulder. Her touch, lord, her touch. Yes, he wanted her. He craved her, and her touch sent shivers down his spine. no longer hot, but spread out and warm all over. Oh and forget about thinking, his brain was scrambled.
"I promise angel, you're words are safe with me."
He reached out his muzzle towards her, blowing warm air softly over her cheek in an exhale. His mouth parted ever so slightly to scent her better, though he never once actually touched her. Very, very close, but no, not yet; he pulled his ebony mask away from her. Angel seemed to be the right thing to call her, for some reason.
She launched into her own story and he found himself rumbling deep in his chest as she spoke of being treated as an outcast. When she said she was actually beat up by them, his lips curled back in a silent snarl. How dare they! If he ever found her brothers, they better be prepared to beg for their lives. Her own family ABANDONED her? Another louder, meaner growl began in his chest, this one falling from his lips. As if she hadn't already had a tough time, for no reason, another group cast her away? She looked away, and his ears wilted back.
"If I ever so much as see any one of them, Ill be sure they regret what they did."
The words came out in a dull snarl, but it was in no way aimed at her. In fact, he'd turned his carribean eyes to the lake to glare at it.The ragged male didn't even realize that for the absolute first time in his life, Emory was nowhere to be found in his thoughts. More so, the urge to protect was, also for the first time, not because of her.
