Rowan could see that Deirdre did not understand directly. Fair enough, she was young still - time was on her side. Rowan stole another moment of comfort, delaying things as long as she could. No doubt that once it was all clear the girl would recoil from her. "Like Osprey, yes, but it is different,"  She gave a sigh, watching the pale young witch for a moment more. "They are not legitimate now your father has passed - they were his, but he will never get to see them as he saw you."  

That was the biggest loss of all she felt. Her children would not know their father, would not get to learn from him. The growing feeling that they would not know their siblings either concerned her greatly and she hoped the young girl would not be too mad.
