she tilted her head at her words. rowan seemed to understand, but deirdre herself had difficulty in this; the resources had returned in full force, now. as rowan admitted to aria's upset, deirdre licked her chops. she wondered if she might ever understand it; but aria would likely overcome her condolences and all would be well. 

but she sensed rowan's desire to move to a new subject, and deirdre heeded her wish. to lead this place, as my father had, she said with a smile, when i come of age. she felt in her very bones, in her soul, that the forest was her own! its occupants spoke with her, and she spoke to it. she loved its ocean, and she loved its forest, and it was her fathers crypt. for all time, she would keep it safe from the dangers of cruelty and darkness. to lead alongside aria would be a great gift to her, for she thought the pale beauty wise.
