Thunder tried to rock the earth, whilst the little boy slept. The first boom had not been so bad, rousing him for a moment before he'd forced his eyes back shut. The second, however, had him jumping up to his feet and spinning around, eyes wide in a desperate search for his mother's form. Having found her, his ears fell flat against his skull, mind creating various horrendous images of beasts that might match the sound coming from outside. Something was angry, a giant beast that he'd never seen before in his short life. Scrambling forward, he'd gone straight over to Gyda, having stopped just in time to keep himself from tumbling into her side. Another crack of thunder followed his actions, a flash of lightning providing him with enough of light to realize that someone was missing.
Hvitserk hadn't even noticed his sister as she'd gone through the den's mouth, attention having been glued to the need to take cover. When it had been realized that she was gone, however, he'd turned towards the exit. The beast outside was absolutely furious, and so he didn't want to go out, but was still pulled forward anyways. Every step was hesitant and stiff, fear raging on. Peeking outside, his curiosity had managed to dull his need to go into hiding, allowing for him to step out into the rain with his sister. Following her gaze, the child had been made to look up towards the sky, finding not a beast, but a display of foreign light. Had he the capability to speak more than just incomprehensible sounds, then surely he'd have asked her what was going on up there. But ask he could not, and so he'd instead been made to stare above, ears still back and body attempting to take shelter from the rain against Thyri.
She swept in and stole the flame,
leaving a dragon without his breath
