No, it was definitely a mistake having asked.
Another grunt escaped him as he lifted his muzzle then, water droplets forming upon his chin as he cast his eyes back to the direction of the lands the Creek pack had claimed. "If you want an adventure why not go to Fox and ask permission to explore the surrounding lands?" There was a small pause before his eyes drifted back over her, once more settling upon the intricate marking around her eye. "She doesn't strike me as the type of Alpha that would approve of her members simply disappearing for a period of time without warrant or notice," he decided then, finally pressing his haunches back to the ground as he sat. He certainly wasn't looking to piss her off -- she was a small little thing, but he did not doubt the spitfire nature that he had caught sight of upon his initial meeting with her.
About to suggest they simply explore the nearby lands for now, a rustle in the brush caught his attention. Within moments, the large male was upon his paws, his hackles bristling as he regarded the shadows for a moment. No bird flew out to the trees above, and no squirrel or rabbit dashed away in fear. No, this was something else.
The wind was not in his favor, but he was not one to take chances and simply shake the unknown creature out. "Show yourself," he responded smoothly, taking a few paces forward to block the brush from Sky. "Or I'll drag you out by your tail and keep it as a souvenir for my den." He didn't have a den yet.. but whatever had been spying on them did not know that.
