Junior took the bait - Saēna was spared, for the moment, and Pura became the target of her wrath instead. Not until there was no possible escape did he taste blood, becoming instantly wide-eyed and open-eared at the strange taste of it. It was tangy and metallic and all-together wonderful, but when he looked up to see where it had come from, his cousin was just about to retaliate.

He squared himself against her attack, roaring something similarly threatening back but stopping abruptly when the weight of her bowled him onto his side. They tussled and snarled, Pura scratching and snapping desperately beneath the weight of Junior's paws. Eventually, a sharp tap on the head distracted the losing pup, and he turned his head upside-down to see where the interruption had come from - exposing his throat and belly to Junior in the process.
