there were borders to which eshamun did not often go, and those guarded by the mountains at their rear were two of them. yet the woman was aware that she must monitor all of her land, now that asherah was indisposed and giana .... giana had left them. honey as well. the ekar-eji felt keenly their disappearances and wondered at them. her own pack was faltering, and even with ar-khalba newly ascended alongside her, and arunik'ra returned, eshamun was unsure if the malkaria would survive the snows.
the scent of another came to her, and the canaanite pushed forth, her ruddy hackles raising. the titanic dark shadow of a wolf was not upon her borders, but the sheer size of the creature gave eshamun a deep and fearful pause, and it was without her usual affability that the ekar-aji moved until she was visible, and regarded the retreating monster with a cold glance.[/tr][/td][/table]
