@Grayday had woken her early that morning, before the sun had risen, and nosed her fur in departure. He even told her where he’s going but her mind lagged behind several seconds and she completely missed it. By the time her jaws open to ask, he’s already slipped from the den and gone about his business. She can only gather he wants her to stay in the den for a while to keep an eye on the children. It’s too late to try and get out of it now as he disappears entirely from view.

She looks over to see both of them still sleeping, cuddled up against one another. They’d grown on her in the last several weeks but she still felt a disconnect she doesn’t want to confess, nor does she really know how to put into words. She still feels like a child herself and she rejects the responsibility as much as she wants to help, giving her enough confliction she’s still able to bury.

Adeline stretches out her limbs and curls her neck into her chest as her muscles work out the stiffness. In the process, she accidentally shoves @Sunny with one of her back feet that promptly causes her to sit up. “Oh!” she calls in surprise, moving to nose between him and @Dawn. “I’m so sorry,” she murmurs after a few reassuring licks, hopeful he doesn’t think she’d done so on purpose.
