Then, when it had been reduced to a fibrous pulp, Whip swallowed thickly like a young boy taking bitter medicine from his mother's spoon. He did not know how long it would take to feel an effect. It appeared Galateia was settling in for the long haul as she stretched her willowy limbs. "So, what now?" he asked. Whip settled along her flank, belly flat against the ground.
