His companion falling to his death - or at least minor injury - would be an awkward end to their gathering. The boy seemed sure enough of himself, though. And he was singing. Strangely this felt comfortable to the larger man. There was something about having an energetic companion that amused him, just slightly. After a few minutes of silence, he spoke again. "Tell me more about this place. Your family." It was more polite questioning than genuine interest, though he had to admit his curiousity was sparked by the firecracker.
