Raven's sputtered remark rapidly evolved into to the moment in which she lept to rush to aide his injury, and until she moved, Rannoch meekly watched on as he attempted to negate the pain with a clenched jaw as he found himself at a loss for what to do. 

The other wolf approached swiftly, causing a new sensation to surge through the yearling: fear. In tandem with Raven's advance, Rannoch retreated a few steps backward in an attempt to keep his distance while a startled snarl escaped him. 

"Yeah, some stranger got me good a while back," he remarked sharply through the pain, his heart racing. "He rushed me just like you did, went right for my throat, and almost killed me." He fell silent then, his body tense as he watched the other wolf. Whether Rannoch would flee or stay would be determined by Raven's reaction to the information that had been disclosed.
