It was some other indescribable need that led him to squeak and whimper often, and that drove him to crawl and squirm around in a futile search whenever he was not sleeping.

He was his most content he felt his siblings around him. He was therefore sensitive to their movements, and their absences most. So when his brother wandered off, Euron woke and called for him a three-note whimper as his nose probed the darkness hoping to bump into him. His legs drew him forwards until his brother’s tail flicked across his snout, which he captured between his gums and mouthed and even suckled by reflex.

In response to finding his littermate, his own tail twitched rapidly across the den floor, and he serenade Ramsay with muffled squeaks.
