What he said made perfect sense; it was a philosophy Colt often practiced as well.  Loyalty was a gift to be given only to those worthy, and it was better to break off a promise and leave than throw your weight behind someone who wasn't smart enough to use it correctly.  Colt had met his share of idiots and left his share of places behind.  This fellow was a kindred soul if his standards were high as he said they were.

"Fair enough. Perhaps we'll swap notes sometime.  Just ask for Colt.  Colt Blackthorn.  If I'm around, that should do it."  And the family name would hopefully at least earn the guy a pass, even if Colt wasn't there.
