Travelling to the coast was turning out to be a little harder than expected.
The good thing about travelling just the two, Chusi and him, was that they could speed up their pace more easily rather if they were with a larger group, but also because it was just the two of them they had to be extra careful with the other predators in the area such as bears or even mountain lions.
Or other wolves.

A day or two ago they had passes near the home of the wolves that had caused Remi's long healed injuries. Morningside.
He had decided to remain silent as they crossed the area for he knew how his behaviour had upset Chusi. And he thought she did not need any other reasons to be upset. Since they had begun their trip she had been really quiet, and Remi, not knowing how to deal with feelings, his or other's,  had decided to give the girl her space and peace. 

He still strived to show her he was there for her more than just with her.
He spent a lot of his energy hunting, and though he wanted to be able to give her a kill of her own sometimes they were forced to split. A couple of times Remi had lied about eating already to leave the kill entirely to her, despite his growling stomach the Ostrega was always making sure Chusi was well. 

And right now, he was looking for their dinner.
He had left Chusi in the temporary campsite they had set up to spend the night and was now out and about, nose close to the ground as he tracked down a critter's fresh trail.
