Rannoch's stomach dropped as Gannet causally spoke of what had happened. "I'm glad that you made it home," he replied, thinking of Cypress; it had been long since he had gone missing, and Rannoch was slowly coming to terms with his brother's prolonged absence. "Being lost is no joke," he admitted with a hint of sorrow, his ears falling as he looked to Gannet. "My brother went missing months ago... and he hasn't come back yet." Rannoch hadn't meant to darken the subject matter but, he couldn't help it. It had been a long time since he had talked about Cypress. 

In an attempt to move their conversation away from Cypress, Rannoch asked, "Where did you find yourself when you were lost?"
