"Small world," mused Rannoch with a faint smile. His light expression was a short recess from the feeling of remorse that curdled in the pit of his stomach; he couldn't stand to think that Gannet might never walk again.
"I hope so, too," he agreed. "When we met, he was nothing but kind to me, and he is a childhood friend of Liffey's; his treatment was unfair." Rannoch wished he could right the wrong within Moonspear but, it seemed like doing so grew more difficult by the day.
"I wish I had a way to return him home," Rannoch knew he didn't belong here, and knew that the wolves of the Caldera were probably worried sick. "Or, more importantly, I wish I had a way to fix the situation." He sighed, his shoulders sagging under the weight of his own stress.
