relmyna felt that there simply must be another way to communicate aside from looks and the language of her body; such questions put to her caused a realization that answers of 'yes' and 'no' would not always suffice. and so, with a mixture of apprehension and amusement mingling in her expression, she parted her jaws and showed the boy the ragged bit of tongue she had left. closing her mouth after a moment, relmyna shook her head. no tongue. no voice. perhaps he would make the connection.
to his next quick inquiry, the patchwork wolfess shook her head. she did not live here; she followed sheogorath where he would go, but found her own shelter in the evenings, a small den she was slowly excavating. a smile trailed the length of her ruined mouth as she gazed toward the cruel oddities that littered the place; relmyna appreciated its atmosphere.
another nod, this one slow and warm. it was his to keep. the woman's brow furrowed momentarily; she gazed at his small body and wondered if he could partake of the meat, but the thought passed. she did not question its origin, nor her maternal verve; it was one of a thousand odd and disjointed thoughts that wandered through her mind each day.
instead, relmyna pulled the skull of a rabbit from the snow and pushed it toward the child, sniffing at it deeply before she did so. did he know from what animal it came?
