No kidding, he thought as she mentioned Towhee might be sensitive.  But what did she expect.. for everyone to cater to her about it?  That was the thing about disabilities like that... they did define you, least at first meet.  And in Colt's opinion, it was unfair of Towhee to expect otherwise, and to continually shit on him for not being able to immediately get on her level.

"What do I do, lie to her?" he asked, slightly exasperated.  Then he sighed.  "Nah, I can't.  If defensive is what I'm gonna get, then I guess it's what i'm gonna get.  Less you have some other advice."  Maybe option a was the best one... just avoid her from now on, and make nice with the rest of the pack.  One outta a dozen or so wasn't so bad, right?
