Hexe's air of self-importance grew, when Erzulie joined her. For those couple of seconds it took them to reach the reed-covered tree her head was held higher and her stride was prouder. And then they had come to their destination and the dappled she-wolf jumped right into action, tracing the tree-trunk with her nose, sniffing and taking in the myriad of smells it had to offer, sticking her muzzle in some of the hollows and in one hole she stuck in her paw and pulled out a tightly shut clam. 

She sniffed it, tried to pick it up, but due to it's shape and surface it was not easy to do, and eventually left it lying by her feet, while she examined it with a curious expression. Then a quick look over to the cream-colored she-wolf to see, if she was busy and, if she could lend her brain-cells again to tell, what it was and what could they do with it.
