Being the absolute best at everything all the time caused her to be arrogant and much less careful than she should've been.  Ambrose had already proven himself a worthy opponent, but the boys she'd run with before the Redhawks could never keep up with her fleetfooted grace.  She was not looking for a feint as she dove towards his leg and he successfully caught her off guard.  She did not lose her balance like he wished; instead she took a few reeling steps backwards with Ambrose hot on her heels.
