She had not seen Viinturuth in weeks, but left him well alone to seek company with her in his own time. Durnehviir wanted to be patient with him in light of recent events, despite the despair and longing in her heart to simply be with her children. The family was in ruins, splintered and perhaps irreparable, and as the dragoness' fear of losing her son drove her to search for him at his usual haunts that morning, she found them absent of any fresh scent.
Frantic, she scoured the territory with the hope coming across newer trail for the older ones led her in circles. Snow began to fall, drifting through the bitter air around her, and tears pricked her eyes as the strong possibility of Viinturuth's departure fell atop already weighted shoulders.
She tilted her muzzle skyward and howled out in a mother's despair, beckoning for a boy she knew would not respond. Silence hung heavy between the foliage and on she pressed, ginger ears swivelling to and fro as she scanned through snowfall with frantic champagne eyes.
Something about the sight of Constantine, despite the drama that now enveloped their relationship, made her shoulders sag with relief. She exhaled a sharp breath and veered toward him, skipping whatever greeting or frustration he might expect from her to make a grim announcement: "Viinturuth is gone!"
