Kavik padded through the snow, following the creek of his new territory. It reminded him of the one that ran through the middle of the plateau, and his heart tightened against the twinge of sadness that followed the thought. He knew it would be a while before he could return to what was once his home--not that he really had any desire to do so now; he considered that place to be cursed, and here was there home now. He had managed to get most of his packmembers here without much trouble, and wanted to continue to make the transition as smooth as possible. He tried not to dwell on his lost mate, but he still made trips through the mountain pass looking for her only to end up empty-pawed every time. He wouldn't give up, though. He would find her, even if it destroyed him. He still hadn't found Corvus either, and he hoped the male was safe wherever he was. 

His steps came to a stop eventually, and he took a seat facing the water, watching as if flowed under the icy top layer. Soon this place would feel like home too, and he would do his best to make sure the others felt the same way.
