Wheeling Gull Isle Sundown in the Paris of the Prairies

Following her sister's departure, Thresher felt slightly lost. Moorhen was gone with her, and any chance she had had at getting to know Lucas better had also gone out the window. Though she'd never really realized it before, there was a sort of isolation that came with living on an island. Previously, it had meant that she'd been safe, in one place, with all the wolves she loved- but knowing now and feeling what it felt like to see them leave made her realize that there was a much bigger world on the other side of the landbridge; one that had seemed so frighteningly immense to her, when she'd been stranded there, that she had lost most of her desire to explore. Now with Koi gone, though, she could do nothing but worry about her sister. Though the wolves she'd met on the mainland had been very kind to her- it was still so vast and open that she had never truly felt safe; not until she'd returned home. 

As always, Thresher spent the majority of her time combing the beach, looking for little things that used to amuse her. Shells were pretty, but they reminded her of her sister. The little hermit crabs that used to scuttle here and there were pretty much all holed up somewhere out of sight for the winter. Driftwood lay scattered here and there, and there was still a large amount of debris that had been tossed up on the beach during the horrific storm that was interesting to see- but it all looked the same after a while. Maybe something new would catch her eye- so the keen little girl kept looking, roving this way and that in hopes of finding a treasure to bring home to her mother.
