He was under no impression that she wanted to be in this situation with him, and he was just thankful she didn't seem to completely hate him. Kavik hated himself enough, and he had already done irreparable damage to his life; it would be so much worse if she decided to make this difficult for him. Plus, he wanted to take care of her; it was his fault she was pregnant in the first place, and he just wanted to do the right thing.
