Sunset Valley Another chance

Anargul was utterly indifferent about the cold and the snow around her. She’d lived too long and experienced too many winters to care about such things anymore. If the cold claimed her and she died, there would be nothing she could do about it, so why bother caring? She trudged along, shivering in the wind. When she saw the red speck up ahead, she focused on it. It was the only bit of color in this valley of white, so she used it as a landmark. As she came closer, she realized it was a wolf.

She found her lips curling at the thought of interacting with another wolf. There was a reason she was alone out here instead of curled up in a pack somewhere. She’d had one too many bad experiences with those of her kind and had become a loner to avoid having to deal with them. But luck was not on her side today. She refused to turn around and head another direction. She’d come too far now. She’d have to keep moving towards the bright red wolf whose shape was becoming clearer and clearer as she drew closer. She gave a short snapping bark to let the woman know she was being followed and left the greeting at that.
