Swiftcurrent Creek But you make me want to be brave

The spring brought plenty of small game to the creek, so Kavik had not been surprised to run across the weasel on his way back to the den from a patrol. It had been a quick, efficient hunt, and the alpha now walked through the trees proudly holding the now dead creature between his large teeth. He was never sure if Alessia was eating enough, especially with so many new mouths to feed, so he brought her food every chance he could. 

He moved into the cave and froze, seeing that everyone, including his mate, seemed to be sound asleep. He quietly padded over to his family and set the meal down next to Alessia, deciding to leave it there for her to eat whenever she woke. With a yawn, he stretched and lied down before resting his head on his front paws. Maybe he would sleep, too. Soon, the rhythmic sounds of his family's soft breathing had the alpha drifting off to sleep, his own breathing slowing to match that of the other napping wolves.
