Weejay was beyond excited to be escorted outside of their den. Any time her parents allowed her out of her small world, Weejay took the adventure with great seriousness.. it as much composure as a child her age was capable of managing. Like any expedition involving a toddler, there were lots of excited coos, mumbled babblings, and strings of half-words muttered at every new and interesting thing she saw. She tried to stay on her best behavior, even when things like new scents and sights tempted her to dart off to inspect them.
She kept behind her mother’s swinging hocks, occasionally stopping to sniff the air with her ears flopping forward in the abrupt motion. Every now and then she’d be forced to trot quickly to keep pace, but if there was one thing Weejay never did, it was stray too far behind.
The small assembly came to a small thicket and Weejay slowed, her eyes narrowing in suspicion. Was this a trick, where her mom took her to another boring den to stay in? This was supposed to be an adventure, not a trick! She glanced to her mother, disapproval writ across her features by her tiny frown — yet that briefly darkened scowl lifted as a male rose from outside Weejay’s peripherals. He looked very similar to Daddy; Weejay did a double-take, her tail wriggling as she tried to make sense of this new information. She loved Daddy, so she would probably love Not-Daddy too, right? Looking to her mother, she could only read positivity in Wildfire’s expression and body language, so Weejay brightly stepped to her mother’s flanks and chirped a loud
