Arrow Lake Birds don't fly, they soar

Zarya studied the gargoyle. Once she finished speaking a quiet beat had followed, during which she questioned what he would do next. She expected an attack, another wound to follow the silence. Zarya had already braced herself by the time the wolf began talking. 

Some of the gruffness she noticed earlier had disappeared. Zarya nodded slightly to his warning. “Your home used to be here?” she inquired. “Why did you leave?” Zarya questioned with honest curiosity. 

After he stepped back, she knew she was safe from any more injuries. At least from him. She watched the he-wolf as he seemed to study her. He wanted to help? “I mean- I see no reason to deny your offer.” Zarya sounded more childish than she desired when she began speaking. But soon, she steadied her voice.

“Thank you” she managed to squeak as she glanced at the wolf again. Zarya didn’t expect that kind of offer. “Wait... first. I’m Zarya. I dislike not knowing who someone is. Sorry.” she continued. It really was one of her pet peeves. It made conversations just the much more awkward.
