Closer, she went, since it was easy not to think in any great detail when the most basal needs ruled out. But, she didn't get all the way there before she saw the other--just barely over the fog of grief, it was the first glimpse of light, silvery fur that brought her jarringly back to present with eyes wide.

But, another second, and realization set in that this was not the one she sought. Before surprise could take over, she tried to bite it back, and swallow it away to the nothingness she best carry forward with a careful, guarded neutral.

However, Opalia still closed into on the lakeside and found a spot a sort distance from the other, not deterred to see a single wolf at their lonesome--for she had faced greater foes. She didn't lower her head to drink yet however, and pointed a glance at the stranger first. Hei, she called, the greeting slipping effortlessly with a quick nod, and lingering glance full of questions. While not the sterling furs she sought to find in these wilds so soon, it was perhaps not an entire lost cause yet.
