Stormfall jumped ten feet into the air and six feet back when the wolf stood up and began making growly, bark-y noises at her. Being a feline and trying to understand a canine was like being Russian and trying to understand English with no training. All he said to her was gibberish, and she made no effort to try and understand him at all. She turned and sprinted away, expecting the wolf to be on top of her at any second... Except, that never happened.
She stopped running after only a few seconds, when she felt no claws or fangs on her body, and did not hear the sound of his paws hitting the earth in an attempt to catch her. She spun around then, trying to figure out what was happening. Her eyes were still big and her fur still stood on end, heart ramming against her chest in fear. But he was just... standing there, looking at her expectantly. She did not understand his words, but all animals understood body language, and his posture was calm.
Slowly, belly to the ground, as if stalking the brute, she crept forward again, keeping one eye on him and one eye on the fish he had nudged toward her (though she had not noticed because her back had been turned when he'd done it, as she'd been fleeing at the time). Eventually, she made it back to where she had been before, and was now only feet from the giant wolf, who stared at her. Despite his pleasant demeanor, having him stare at her made her feel quite unnerved. She made a snatch at the fish, caught it with her claws, stuffed it into her mouth, and then fled, until she was about twenty feet away and hidden once again in the long grass. Here, she began tearing off chunks of the meat and swallowing them whole, as this was how bobcats ate their prey...
