Alpha pup suited him well. He had already defended his title against the fat one, now all he had to do was continue to keep it safe with him. No one else deserved the title, everyone else was inferior as far as he was concerned, especially the little parasites who decided to join Lithium and his mom in the den. Seriously, why the hell were they there? There was other mommies in the pack they would leech off of. 

Oh well. Valium was growing more each and every day, stronger, more sure of himself as he wandered further from the den and spending less time there than necessary. Today he found his way to the river, the smooth stones under his paws felt strange but not unpleasantly so. The water looked calm, the chill in the water's residue on the stone-covered beach licked his paws. Valium's banner waved happily at the odd sensation, sniffing the stuff and the rocks to investigate it as he wandered around.
