she refused to look at him and it left a sour taste in the back of his mouth. he wasn't angry, he was scared. in all his life he'd never felt pressured to be good enough for anyone other than himself, but his children were different. he wanted to be more than good for them and right now with everything he was going through, he wasn't sure he could be.
