Quiet steps infiltrated his silence, heterochromatic gaze following where the sounds were coming from. One of the other wolves in the pack, not surprising seeng as he was within the pack's borders. Skoll belonged to the pack, though, so there would be no issue with him being there. And then a chuff came from the other, not loud enough to make him angry over being disturbed, but loud enough for him to lift his head and stifle one back. 

He didn't speak, but wondered why the other had decided to start their silent conversation.
