Ikkalrok had, thus far, not been entirely aware of the changes she was experiencing. More hunger, a sort like she had never known... and craving particular fare, to boot. Bison; she missed bison. Ikkalrok patrolled, and so strong was her craving this hour that she swore she could smell it upon the wind. Ikkalrok took several steps beyond the borders of Ursus before remembering herself. This was a pack that stayed in one place and did not follow the herd. This was a place that slept too close to the den of bears.
That thought brought her in, ironic though it was. Unaware that the desire to nest had suddenly taken root, Ikkalrok moved into the depths of the territory to seek a place undisturbed by Merricks favored species. Ikkalrok was distracted, however, by boarscent... and her mates with it. Before long she came across him, looking to a bird. Ikkalrok had been taught to harry such creatures away—spies, those things could be, Tartok had taught—and so she surged toward the tree with several loud barks. It shocked the bird enough to fly away then and there, but no doubt it was simply the shock that had caused it to wing to another place... it had been well out of her reach, after all.
Rather pleased with herself, she strode toward Revui and sniffed at him. The blood on him was not his own, and she gazed at the dirt on his forelegs. The savage composition was a lovely one, and her tail waved to see him well when suddenly she felt movement within her. Ikkalrok froze, an uncertain look crossing her typically frozen features. A monumental moment for Revui, though he might not realize it—this was the first time any look other than "perpetually displeased" had crossed her visage in full, and more than that, it lingered.
