It was all smiles and jokes, though he meant what he said, it was always said on the lighter side in order to keep the weight off of any conversation and keep it fluid without too much discomfort - if he could help it of course. Not all conversations could, or should, go that way. It was her demand that he wasn't planning on leaving that struck a different chord. Unlike the previous shock, this one was pleasant. His expression changed to astonishment for a brief moment before his tail thudded softly behind him, a smile creeping up on him in the most honest of ways.
