Late appearance by Savi. <3
Saviguk was a growing young boy. Not just in body, but also in mind. With this change came a newfound sense of curiosity, becoming brighter and brighter each day. His eyes had opened, adjusted to the world around him inside the den. He knew it well. The familiar curvatures of the earthen dark walls, the paler forms of his mother and Sialuk. And the darker visage of his father, when he came to visit. Every smell, every texture.
The outside world, on the other hand, was a completely different story. While Sialuk, the one missing a toe but nothing in spirit, had snuck outside ahead of him, he was too absorbed in his latest little discovery. The tail end of the rabbit skin his dear mama had lined the den with, since their birth. Its downy softness fascinated him, tickling the sensitive nares of his nose that made him giggle, despite a few mighty sneezes. It had all of their scents on it, something he took comfort in. And the thin hide felt good on his tender gums, though with needle like teeth coming through, it wouldn't stay intact for long.
Mid chew, his dark little ears pricked, hearing his mother’s soft voice from outside. Only then did he realize that Sialuk was not here, prompting a lift of his eyes away from his handy work and towards the light. Oh, now he was interested. Dropping the mouthful of fur, he took a step forward, only to glance back at his item of possession hesitantly. Ultimately the greater temptation of the new and unknown won out, drawing the boy out of the shadows and into the light. Wide eyed, he wasn't prepared for the intensity of the brightness, nor the strange tickle of grass against his tender paw. Reeling back in surprise with eyes scrunched shut, Savi's display was comical as he leapt back like a loaded spring, careening blindly smack down the neatly arranged fish. Whoops, now he might smell funny.
