Neverwinter Forest sunlight streaming through the window frame

When a dude gets hungry, he gets up and goes hunting. That’s the sensible thing after all. Toshi wasn’t a sensible dude. 

It’s not like he didn’t try the whole hunting thing. He chased down all the hooved mammals under the sun (Toshi was craving the big stuff), but they always got away. Kid’s got spirit, but he didn’t have the body. Curse these gangly little legs.

Oh and he’s tried the scavenging thing too. Never again. Everything he found was old and rotten. There was one time he found bugs—you heard that right, bugs!—crawling around in the meat. That was the final straw. He’d rather live a life of crime than eat maggots again.

It’s his first time snooping around someone else’s place like this, so obviously he was absolute shit at it. Every twig he came across? Snapped. Every rock in his way? Tripped over. Maybe it’s the hunger that made him slip up every second.

Despite being terrible at this thieving business, there was a smirk on his face. Adrenaline pumped through his blood, and Toshi was absolutely living for it. He couldn’t wait to sink his teeth into some real food.
