The days following his return to reality passed in a hazy, dreamlike way. Some days he was completely cognizant and alert, other days he was only partly lucid. On bad days, he forgot how to speak and would return to silence and empty stares, and Blue Willow would fret and mourn the seeming loss of her love again. On good days, though, he would walk and talk and act normal, if a bit spacey.

Today was one of those good days. Today, he walked about the lands and attempted to re-familiarize himself with the plateaued home he had once defended as its Beta. Blue had told him of his fall from leadership, which was understandable. He still did not know of shift in Alphaship, nor of the complicated tangle that had become his brother's love life. All of that had been too complex for Atticus's still-recovering mind, and in Blue's wisdom and compassion, she had decided such things could wait for another day.

He heard a howl with his name on its tone; interestingly, he was already heading in the direction from whence it came, so he merely continued on his way. It only took him a few minutes to find her, though recognition was several further seconds in coming. She had grown a lot since last he'd seen her -- not realizing that she had, in fact, spent a great deal of time with him these last several weeks. A smile flickered over his weary face and his voice was soft as he greeted her, "Hey, Ty."
