Maverick the NPC, one of Blair's "brothers" is initiating the Femur Throw game.
A brother of Blair's named Maverick drug the femurs to a pile and set them aside, getting a breather from their weight. While it wasn't incredibly heavy for someone to lift, the addition was to spin in place and release it at precisely the right time to throw it as far as one could. The further the distance out, the higher chance you had to win.
Each femur had their own marking carved into the bone, and a wolf would then be assigned that marking. The markings resembled runes from Blair's homeland and would be easy identifiers. The playing field was wide and open, and had no limits or bounds. A ring was in the center of the field to indicate where a wolf would stand and prepare to throw. It was three wolves wide to allow ample space for spinning and throwing. There was no telling what direction the femur would be thrown in, but the intention was to get it in the area marked by large branches where the femur bones should land.
Behind the ring was four smooth river rocks each of varying sizes to indicate how someone would place when they won the game. Maverick lined up the bones and made sure they were spaced apart for an easy grab. Once the playing area was set, Maverick waited for players to arrive to test their strength.
