Alpine Lake solace

The Duskfire snorted, plumes of breath escaping heatedly past his nostrils. His dark tipped tail lashed against his heels behind him. Underfoot, massive dark paws crunched against the rough stone of the mountain paths. But this was not his mountain. Not the summit of Atautsikut. 

He had broke away from his home for an extended period of time. He was beginning to feel cramped and suffocated there. In fact, the less time he spent away, the better he felt. 

But he was still moody these days.

Somewhere down below him a great distance, he heard the crash and roar of the waterfalls. He also spied the distant glimmer of blue, which was the lake. More mountains sprawled in towards the horizon. He sighed quietly, sitting down just to take it all in.
