Much to his disappointment, she didn't go for the weaker side, but well she was young and she was learning, and the blow she had landed, still knocked him back a good bit.

It didn't necessarily daze as in his mindset, but it did force him to shift his weight and cant to the side, when he couldn't quite catch himself with his weak limb. So in a way, what she had done worked for her.

He quickly shifted body and aimed a snap at the side that had rushed him, and threw out his paw to aim at her front foreleg, a swipe to knock her down. Though he longed to push back into her space, he was defensive, that meant he was merely to defend himself.
