With her mother away searching for recruits, Thyra felt less pressure to patrol, and instead found herself invested fully and completely into the task of preparing pelts.
She hunted continuously, and practiced her craft on all the small things she could find- so her skills might be more refined by the time she took on something larger, more valuable.
Her most recent find had been a good one- a hare, late in changing its pelt, which was dappled tawny and white. Unique, she thought- and worthy of her full attention.
She brought herself to the lakeside so she could begin to scrape the fat from the underside of the skin, chewing away rough edges and making it ready to be stretched.
