The sea was a familiar companion to the thief. A different time and place, a different stretch of coast, but out there among the waves it was all the same. Nirali came as close to the water's edge as she dared, settling just beyond where the tide lapped thinly at the sands as it stretched toward the land, and settled in to enjoy her meal; stolen from a lone wolf she'd run across on her way to the shore.

She watched the waves as she ate. After a time she caught a glimpse of something among the waves, something red and gold and flickering with familiar movement. Wolven, she guessed, ears flicking forward. But Nirali said nothing for now. She continued to eat in silence, watching the wolf.
