But that idea was crossed out a moment later when a wolf appeared out of the trees, it was averaged sized but not especially brawny. Built for speed rather than strength. It seemed he was better suited to be a hunter than a warrior, but you never knew with these wolves. A large muscular male wolf could be an excellent hunter but a bad fighter and a tall, lithe one could be a bad hunter but a brilliant fighter. And their pack ways, so much more complicated than the simple solitary ways of a cougar, pack lands and territories, rankings, why bother?
