Blacktail Deer Plateau Rosmaling

Hilda felt the vibrations from her mother’s howl, and smacked her lips together, having fallen asleep with a mouthful of her mother’s fur in her mouth. She squawked when something nudged her several times in the side and in retaliation, thumped her hind legs in return, hoping to push the offending sibling a bit further away from her. 

She murmured, lifting her head as she smelled other wolves. Oblivious to the purpose of the day, she began to root through her mother’s fur again, in search of a teat so that she could feed.
