Raindrop had indeed decided to stick behind for this one, as she would take this time to get back out and hunt. The children were starting to eat meat now, at least, regurgitated meat. She took to the fields and woods in search of food, but she urged Ponderosa to go and have a good time. She was a cautious one, but that was okay.

With her mother’s encouragement, she trailed behind the rest of her sisters and father, as they moved across the warm sand. She and pine stuck close to Sumac’s side, as ‘Rosa felt most comfortable there. Partway on their journey, a curious bird had come close, and when she watched her papa fiercely defend them from this feathered foe, her eye were aglow with admiration. 

The wilds of their home were a little scary, but she knew she had nothing to fear. Soon, they were brought to another tide pool, like the ones they had visited not that long ago with mom. She now knew what these were, and was most curious about the little critters scuttling around. In an act of learning, she licked the water, and to her surprise, it was not fresh, it was salty and icky. “Bleh!” And she shook her dark head, sticking out her pink tongue. “Daddy, dats icky.”
