The rabbit now in reach, Beau lurched forward and roughly snatched up the rabbit, shaking the small, squealing animal with a satisfied growl. Tail held high, he trotted to a spot in the grass more or less cleared of flowers to lay himself down.
A meal he didn't quite need, however he would be sure to enjoy it. There was nothing that didn't taste better earned through a good chase.
In his excitement he hadn't noticed the stranger watching him, however.
