Qeya River Sing for the hill

She met his gaze. He realized then, that he was looking for answers but lacked the ability to decipher them. Had he hurt her? Had he been kind to her? Did she forgive him? 

When she spoke, he wasn’t even sure what she was asking. 

It could have been one of a million things, and there would have been reason to ask them. The senseless violence had left him in a state of purgatory. Like a stone dropped into deep water on a dark night, he had no idea of knowing what way was up. 

Or if he could even get there. 

He tilted his head, asking silently for clarification, hoping she wouldn’t think him dense for not leaping to a conclusion.
