suliya's gaze flickered, the faintest hint of something unreadable crossing her snow-pale eyes. she held herself as firmly as the words she would speak, the weight of the lanzadoii ways tethering her every thought and action.

my chieftain is firm, she murmured, her tone even, though the words carried a distant weight. i am not allowed ways that are not lanzadoii.

and yet, despite the resolve in her voice, her posture betrayed her—just slightly. a tilt of her head, a softening in the tension of her shoulders, as if she entertained the shadow of a thought she could not voice. she could not allow weakness, not for herself, not for anyone. but perhaps there was a shadow, deep within, that questioned.

his ways...are everything, she added, quieter now, though her voice still carried the sharp edge of conviction. i do not know what i seek, winter's wake.

her eyes lingered on him for a moment too long before she turned her head, as if dismissing the vulnerability that his words had momentarily unearthed.
