Ipiktok ran across Teekon’s vast mountains and valleys. He stopped only where instructed, for he knew Forneskja would send its own messengers to deliver news of Callyope and Solharr’s wedding. Perhaps this is why he hurried so – to best the other village’s envoys as if it were a race.
The harsh weather and long miles quickly whittled away whatever bulk his frame had collected. Soon, it would be time to return to the spine to rest and refuel… but not before stopping at the village known as Sapphique.
He had never traveled so far up the coast before, but the brine air and crashing waves reminded him of Moontide.
Once he reached the borders, Ipiktok sang to the sky – a message to greet whoever called this pack home.
